Diverse Scholars Peer Mentoring

First-year Diverse Scholars are paired with upperclassmen and faculty mentor within DSP to guide them through their first year. Your mentor will give you helpful hints on how to do well in your business classes, why and how to join a business student organization, how to navigate campus resources, insight into the areas of emphasis and introductions to other peers/faculty/staff at the business school.

What to Expect.

We will match you with your mentor soon after the DSP Fall Retreat, which will take place September 10-12, 2021. You can expect to initially hear from your mentor over the phone (so make sure you put the right phone number on your application). Feel free to ask your mentor all the questions you have right away. All the mentors remember what it feels like to be in your shoes. There are NO dumb questions.

Participation in the DSP Peer Mentoring Program is a requirement for first-year DSP Students. Participants are expected to engage with mentors and program activities to make the mentoring partnership work! You and your mentor will touch base twice a month and will meet 1:1 every month to answer questions and to help you stay on track.
